Moscow Architectural Institute (MArchi) will in collaboration with the International Arctic Academy of Architecture host a conference on March 28th and 29th. The conference will focus on the North and present research- and education programs working in this environment.  Russian and Norwegian universities will be invited to participate.  A detailed program will be issued later.

Organizers

The ARCTD 2021 Conference is organized by SPbGASU in collaboration with the Committee on Arctic Affairs, the Saint Petersburg Government, and the Council of Rectors of the Northwestern Federal District.

The ARCTD 2021 aims at international experience exchange in solving the scientific tasks related to the Arctic territories development by HEIs.

The Conference will be organized in a hybrid format (online on Zoom platform and offline) in both Russian and English and interpretation is provided.

Responsible Governance for a Sustainable Arctic

A cross-cutting priority of the Russian Chairmanship in the Arctic Council will be “Responsible Governance for Sustainable Arctic” through promoting collective approaches to the sustainable development of the Arctic, environmentally, socially and economically balanced, enhancing synergy and cooperation and coordination with other regional structures, as well as implementation of the Council’s Strategic Plan, while respecting the rule of law.

The meeting is open to all universities that are focusing on the North.

Arctic Academy of Architecture would like to welcome Schools of Architecture and Landscape-architecture focusing on the North to join the Founding Meeting. The meeting will be arranged as a webinar because of C19 restrictions on Monday March 29th between 10:00 and 14:15.

Please note that all information on this web page is preliminary – all decisions will be made in the Founding Meeting by the universities present.

AAA rector and AAA vice rector will be elected in the Founding Meeting by the member universities present.

An Agreement between the International Arctic Academy of Architecture (AAA) and the member universities will be issued. All member universities will be listed on the web page after the meeting.

The program is developed in close cooperation with the Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk SFU, Tomsk State University in Tomsk (TSU) and St. Petersburg State University (SPbGASU).

Arctic Academy of Architecture is an organisation of Schools of Architecture focusing on the North. The organisation represents currently only schools in Norway and Russia, but would like to attract all Schools of Architecture focusing on the North.

The initiative comes from The Oslo School fo Architecture and design and St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
